Where Should you Apply?

You should directly apply at the websites of universities offering admission into courses during the spring intake. How to Apply for Spring Intake in Canada in 2022?

Here are the steps to follow:

  • Begin the procedure- Most colleges follow the first-come basis for admitting students. You should keep all application deadlines in mind and start the procedure. Do shortlist all the universities and colleges offering the spring intake and the ones you are interested in. Check their eligibility criteria and deadlines carefully.
  • Sitting for the examinations- August to September- This is the time when you should begin preparing for the necessary tests for your spring intake. These include GMAT, SAT, GRE, IELTS, and TOEFL. This should be done two months before sitting for the examination. You should take the required examinations as per the requirements of your institution. Take the TOEFL/IELTS examinations at the most by October before applying. Remember that it will require at least 14-15 days for test results to be declared, and you should have an extra month as a buffer if you wish to take the examination once again.
  • The actual application procedure- October to December- Check out the deadlines and start applying with all your documents before the deadline. Ensure that you get all your LORs, SOPs and other things in place, ideally one month before your final application due dates. Most colleges have October to February as their deadlines, although you should carefully check the websites of all universities that you are applying to.
  • Acceptance Letters + Interviews- December to January- The universities or colleges will be informing you if you have got admission into their courses or not. If required, you should reply actively while appearing for the personal/video interviews. Once you get accepted into any university or college, take a decision quickly without any delays. Reply instantly and do not wait for the final reply deadline. You are required to pay a confirmation deposit which is non-refundable upon confirming your admission to any particular institution.
  • Applying for the study visa and study loan- January to February- Once you get your acceptance letter officially from the college or university, apply for the education loan quickly. Some procedures may take a little time which can affect the overall plan. Complete all paperwork and submit documents for your student visa. Apply on time since processing may require quite some time. If eligible, apply for external scholarships right after getting your university or college acceptance letter.
  • Departure Formalities- March to April- You will now have to book your flight tickets since most universities have courses beginning from early May onwards. In April, you should reach and start looking for on-campus or other accommodation. Get all your documents and their photocopies in order before departure. Get your international debit/credit card and tick off every item on your checklist.
