Madad Portal

Amid the ongoing standoff between India and Canada, the Indian Government has issued a travel advisory to its citizens in Canada, urging them to exercise utmost caution. The Indians in Canada are advised to register themselves with the High Commission of India or Consulates in Toronto and Vancouver through the official websites. The students also have been asked to register themselves with the MADAD App or Portal, as part of the official advisory.

The advisory has been released due to the deteriorating security situation in the country after a series of anti Indian incidents, and threats being issued to Indians by a few extremist groups.

MADAD Portal: What is it

The MADAD portal, or Consular Services Management System, is a web-based platform launched by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India to provide consular services to Indian nationals and students abroad. It can be used to register grievances, track their status, and get updates from the Indian government.

The MADAD portal is especially useful for Indian students in Canada, as it can help them with a variety of issues, including:

  • Visa and immigration problems
  • Academic difficulties
  • Financial issues
  • Medical emergencies
  • Safety and security concerns

At the same time, students are advised to keep calm and stay in touch with their parents. We are hoping and anticipating that the turmoil will subside over the next few days. Both the countries being responsible democracies, neither side will want the issue to escalate any further.
