Iconic American football coach Vince Lombardi outlined my core philosophy to life when he stated- “Leaders aren’t born; they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work.”
Hailing from (city, State), I have always harbored a dream and passion for becoming an entrepreneur. My interest in entrepreneurship and management was born from observing my uncle, an entrepreneur himself, having set up a successful apparel business that encompasses 10 Indian cities today. My conversations with him and watching him lead his team through the trials and tribulations of a competitive market have stimulated my desire to start my own business. However, before taking the plunge, I wish to build a stronger foundation in leadership, management, operations, finance, and other critical aspects. I am thus applying for the MBA program at your esteemed university.
I completed my 10+2 from (institution name) with 95% aggregate marks before pursuing a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) from (institution name) in (city). The three-year bachelor program taught me the basics of business management and operational dynamics, and I graduated successfully in (year) with a GPA of 7.2. I was also fortunate to have assisted my uncle at his brand headquarters in (city) for six months in my second year. This stint taught me some vital backroom basics, including fulfilling shipments, tracking returns, customer communication, and even a few principles and strategies related to marketing and advertising.
Throughout my school and college years, I have been a keen cricket player, representing my institutions at the State level. The game of cricket teaches us more about leadership, teamwork, decision-making, and collective responsibility more than many other activities. My love for the game has been a critical stimulant for my desire to study management. I have always wanted to study in Canada for its warm and cosmopolitan environment and high quality of education, a fact reinforced by my cousin, a proud Canadian resident today.
I wish to set up my finance and portfolio management business once I return to India after completing my studies. With its cutting-edge infrastructure, co-op opportunities, and esteemed faculty, your institution will also help me get the necessary global exposure and insights, and an understanding of today’s evolved consumer in one of the world’s biggest markets. I have perused the curriculum closely, and the modules in financial management, global markets, investment management, and operations are of particular importance to me in my chosen field of work. I am confident that an opportunity to study an MBA program at your institution will help me build the skill sets and leadership qualities necessary to succeed as an entrepreneur.
I thank you for your time in evaluating my statement, academic transcripts, and credentials. I am hopeful about securing a position in the MBA program at your institution and look forward to a positive response.
Thank You
