The IELTS reading task tests your reading skills. The questions are the same but they differ in text styles in the case of IELTS Academic and IELTS general. In this task, you are provided with three reading passages with 40 questions which you need to complete in a duration of 60 minutes. Here are the dyslexia IELTS reading answers for your perusal along with the passage and questions. This will aid your practice sessions ahead of the examination.
Part A: Centers of communication make up one portion of our cerebral cortex. These lie within the human brain’s left portion where cells in the cortex are made of six layers. The Ectopia, which contains multiple nerve cells, pushes upwards from the lower layers to the outer zones of the cortex. These are not usually seen in this zone. A microgyrus or small fold is also present within our cortex. This leads to a reduction in the normal layer count to four from six.
Part B: Microgyria development leads to a complication in the neural links between added brain parts and these centers of communication. Microgyria gets introduced into rat embryos and when these mature into adults, then their skills of differentiation between a couple of sounds implemented one after the other automatically come down. This is a symptom of dyslexia that human beings suffer from, i.e. the inability to distinguish between two sounds that are played in succession.
Part C: Dyslexia is not only impactful on our language centers but our brains as well, leading to various visual abnormalities. The cell size reduction in the lateral geniculate nucleus layers is an example of this aberration. The tracts of the nerve which transport information to the visual cortex at the back of our brains from the eyes is found here. This is vital since the incapability of reading is one of the definitions of what we know as dyslexia.
Part D: Similar auditory and visual system failures also take place in other brain portions too. Thomas Zeffiro and Uinevere Eden from Washington, D.C. based at Georgetown University, have discovered one such instance through the MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) method of scanning the brain. Dyslexia has a common symptom, i.e. the failure to absorb or understand anything that is written. Phonemes are units of sound that comprise any language. The doctors were successful in the engagement of both the auditory and visual pathways together through the creation of new activities for patients suffering from dyslexia. These include the deletion of phonemes from the start of words while also using a scanner to track brain activity.
#1. State if the following statement is either true or false.
# Language, as well as visual and auditory processes, are all affected by dyslexia. (True)

#1 A decrease in the number of layers present in the cortex of the human brain.
#2 Compilation of nerve cells in a particular part of the cortex of the human brain where these cells are not usually observed.

Answer: #3
#3. Fill in the Blanks with a maximum of three words in each statement
# A tiny fold that is also known as microgyrus present in the cortex of the human brain leads to an unusual decrease in the number of layers from __________.
