Students will thereafter require the Student Pass for entering the country. Educational institutions in the country will be filing their student pass applications on behalf of students to the ICA or Immigration and Checkpoint Authority of Singapore. Application submissions take place via the SOLAR (Student’s Pass On-Line Application and Registration) system. New applications for passes must be submitted a minimum of one month and not more than a couple of months before the beginning of the course.

Student Visa for Singapore- Costs Applicable

The student visa for Singapore from India will require processing charges of S$30 approximately and payment should be done through debit/credit cards or internet banking for SOLAR submissions. There is also an issuance fee of S$60 chargeable for every student pass and an extra S$30 visa fee (multiple entries). This is applicable when any applicant finishes all formalities for obtaining his/her Student’s Pass. 

Student Visa for Singapore from India- Necessary Documents 

There are several Singapore student visa requirements for Indian students. Here are the documents that are needed: 

a. Passport- A valid passport is needed and should have validity for a duration exceeding three months beyond the proposed Singapore stay. 

b. Receipt of application fee payment. 

c. Filled up ICA Forms 16 and V36. 

d. Two photographs (passport-sized). 

e. Offer letter from an institution in Singapore. 

f. Receipts of fixed deposit if applicable. 

g. Bank statements and proof of funds. This should be S$8400 plus the tuition fees. 

h. Loan sanction letter from the bank. 

i. Diplomas, transcripts, certificates, and degrees. 

j. Test scores demonstrating English language proficiency. Applicable examinations include GMAT, GRE, and TOEFL

Looking for information on how to get a student visa for Singapore? You should submit your Student’s Pass application at least 1 month before the beginning of the course. Applications should be submitted via the SOLAR (Student’s Pass On-Line Application & Registration) system. Here are the steps to be followed: 

a. The college should be registering the student first via SOLAR with information like date of birth, name, nationality, and gender along with course beginning and conclusion dates, details, and reference number for the SOLAR application. 

b. The student must log in to the SOLAR framework for eForm 16 submissions. They should have their acknowledgment notice for registration with login details from colleges, address and contact details of Singapore, passport information, a recent color photograph (passport sized), email address, and the like. 

c. Upon submitting, they will be printing a copy of the eForm for submission to the ICA. 

d. Payment of student visa fees for Singapore will be completing the process.

Singapore Study Visa Duration and Eligibility 

Student visas are called Student’s Passes in Singapore and universities, or colleges are called IHLs (Institutes of Higher Learning). International students are required to apply for this pass which will be submitted to the SOLAR network, the official registration mechanism of the country. Applications are directly processed by the ICA (Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority) for those up to 19 years of age and who wish to attend private educational institutions. Students above 20 years of age wishing to study for commercial, vocational, fine arts, or language courses, may have to first appear for interviews. 

A valid passport is required along with identity proof, passport-size photographs, printed eForm 16 and Form V36 via SOLAR, and a letter of acceptance from a recognized institution in Singapore. The visa fee payment receipt is required along with proof of funds and statement of purpose (SOP) along with academic credentials and certificates. The visa is usually valid for two years.
