The admissions committee at the University of Illinois Chicago, is selective, with an acceptance rate of 79% (fall 2021). Half of the applicants admitted to the university have an ACT score between 23 and 31 and a SAT score between 1080 and 1310. 

Admission eligibility criteria

  • In order to get admission in University of Illinois Chicago, the high school GPA of the applicants must be 3.35 on a scale of 4.0. 
  • The applicants need to submit an essay and the university will review the quality of writing. 
  • The SAT/ACT scores will be reviewed by the university, if provided by the applicants, even though they are not mandatory. 
  • Similarly the IB and AP score of the applicants will be reviewed by the university if submitted, even though they are not mandatory.

How the university evaluates applicants ?

The applicants of the University of Illinois Chicago are evaluated entirely on their previous academic performance, and this means that the average GPAs of the applicants are considered for admission. The SAT and ACT scores are not mandatory. However, they are reviewed if submitted. The English Language Proficiency scores are also evaluated by the university.
