Acceptance Rate

The University of South Florida is more selective, with a fall 2021 acceptance rate of 49%, and half of the candidates are admitted to the university with an ACT score between 24 and 29, and SAT scores between 1140 and 1340. 

Admission eligibility criteria 

  • In order to get admission into the University of South Florida, the cumulative GPA score of the applicants must be 3.50 on a scale of 4.0. 
  • The official ACT and SAT scores of the applicants must be between 24 and 29 and 1140 and 1340, respectively. 
  • Applicants from non-English speaking countries must meet the English Proficiency Test requirements in order to get admission into the University of South Florida, i.e., 69 in TOEFL, 6.5 in IELTS, 105 in Duolingo, and 53 in PTE. 
  • A brief essay must be submitted to the university, stating the professional goals and intended field of research. 

Documents required 

  • The students must submit their resume during application. 
  • A copy of the passport of the applicant must be submitted. 
  • Bank statements must be provided for financial proof and financial support. 
  • An affidavit of support must be submitted to the university. 
  • The candidates need to submit letters of recommendations for some programs. 
  • The previous work experiences of the candidate may be required for some courses.

How the university evaluates applicants 

The applicants are evaluated on the basis of their high-school academic performance and they must meet the GPA requirements. Since the acceptance rate is only 49%, the university is highly competitive and evaluates applicants on the basis of their ACT and SAT scores too.
