Located in one of the prime cities of the US, The University of Illinois at Chicago has been a public research institution teaching students since 1858. It is one of Chicago's most diverse universities and ranked #317 in the QS World University Rankings, 2023. It also stood between 310 and 350th position in THE World University Rankings in 2022. 

There are about 23,000 undergraduate, 7,800 graduates, and 4,000 professional students presently enrolled at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The institution has 2,691 faculty members and 6,330 Academic Professionals and Civil Service individuals as of 2022. Higher Learning Commission accredits the university.

The university campus is divided into 15 academic colleges. The University of Illinois at Chicago has multiple laboratories for Applied Sports Psychology and Injury Research and Education, Biomechanics and Clinical Outcomes, Brain Plasticity, Cognitive-Motor Balance Rehabilitation, Integrative Physiology, and many more streams. She also worked as a diplomat and lawyer representing Illinois in the United States Senate from 1993 to 1999.
