It joined the public State University of New York in 1962 and has since evolved to become the SUNY system's largest and most comprehensive university. The University at Buffalo, widely known as SUNY's flagship and centre for professional training and education, was also the first of the state's two public universities to gain membership in the prestigious Association of American Universities, one of only 59 research-intensive universities in the country to do so.

And since it is a public institution, University at Buffalo tuition fees are significantly low compared to other colleges, making it more accessible for international students.

QS World University Ranking and Other Rankings
