You should remember that the academic year in the USA is divided into semesters like fall (September-January), winter (between fall and spring), spring (January-May) and summer (May/early June before fall). Most universities will take applications for this course only a couple of times every year for the fall and spring semesters. Some institutions only take applications in the fall semesters as well. You should begin the application procedure for the fall semester at least one year in advance. First, shortlist the universities where you will apply and then check the eligibility criteria. If everything matches, submit your online application. Then, get hold of all the documents that you require, i.e. scores in standardized examinations (GMAT, GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.), your academic mark sheets and transcripts, resume/CV (if needed), SOP (Statement of Purpose), admissions essay (if required), LORs (letters of recommendation), photograph, valid passport copy and more. 

Thirdly, once you have applied well before the deadline, wait for universities to respond to you. If shortlisted, you will have to appear for video interviews.
