Academic Cycle of MS in Computer Science at Princeton University

The MS in CS at Princeton University is a two-year, full-time course. It involves both coursework and submission of an original thesis. Moreover, the candidates can choose their preferred sub-area by opting for relevant courses.

Coupled with these courses, the candidate is also required to write the thesis under the direction of an adviser. In addition, the candidate has to take six courses in a grade to fulfil the course requirements. By the same token, three of these must be 500-level courses.

Equally important, the candidates must maintain a B average, with no more than one C permitted. If they want to be promoted to the second year, they must have a confirmed thesis adviser. 

In addition, a preliminary thesis proposal should be prepared by the end of the first year.
