Western Oregon University Ranking 2024

Western Oregon University (WOU) is a public university. Pioneering Disciples of Christ members founded the institution as Monmouth University in 1856. It combined with Bethel College, another for-profit college, in 1865 to become the Christian College. The Divisions of Education and Leadership, Deaf Studies and Professional Studies, and Health and Exercise Science make up the College of Education at WOU. The Education Trust ranked WOU among the top 10 colleges in the country for increased graduation rates among underrepresented minorities in January 2010. With the exception of the period during the Second World War, while university enrollments fell across the country, the school entered a prolonged period of expansion to become one of the best academic institutions in the state of Oregon. The University is ranked at 701-750 in the 2023 QS World University Rankings, while U.S. News ranks it at 55 (Regional Universities West) for 2022-23. It is also ranked at #376 in the Safest College Campuses list by Niche and at #373 in the Best Colleges for Education in America by Niche. Times Higher Education ranks it at >600th in its US College Rankings list for 2022.
