About the University

Located in Takoma Park, Maryland, Washington Adventist University is a private Seventh-day Adventist institution that provides a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate professional and liberal arts courses. The only Honors College in the Adventist Higher Education System is located at WAU, and it enables you to combine several fields of study into a unique degree. It was established in picturesque Takoma Park in 1904 and therefore is owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. 

Moreover, it provides students from all corners of the world with a Christian education. Its goal is to generate graduates who will lead their communities with morality and competence. The University is ranked at number 17 globally (and number 3 amongst U.S. Universities) on the 2022 Academic Ranking of World Universities by the Shanghai Ranking Consultancy. It is ranked at 133-175 in the Regional Universities North list by U.S. News.
