What documents are required for PCC- A list

The list includes the following:

1. Passport

You will have to self-attest a photocopy of your passport, the first and last two pages (inclusive of the observation page if it is present), and the ECR (Emigration Check Requirement)/Non-ECR page.

2. Receipt of your Application

You will have to furnish the receipt of the application you received from the Passport office and keep the SMS received from them handy.

Procedure for Obtaining PCC

First, you will have to get the PCC form at the Passport Seva Kendra, which falls under the jurisdiction of your Passport Office. Then you have to submit the filled-up form with all the required documents. The final step will be the police verification for PCC if the current address stated by you is different from the one in your passport.

Suppose you are applying for PCC in February 2022 while your passport was issued on 2nd March 2012, and you are staying at the same address as given in the passport. In this case, you will get the PCC directly during your passport office appointment.

However, suppose your passport was issued in March 2009 and renewed again in March 2019, and you have not got your residential address changed (you are staying at a different address now). In this case, you will need police verification. However, if the address remains the same, you will not need police verification until the expiry of your passport.

Yet, if you apply for PCC once the passport expires, you will need physical police verification even while staying at the same residential address. The police verification will have validity for 13 days. You will require physical police verification once again after this duration.
