One of the best public institutions in Brighton, United Kingdom; the University of Sussex was founded in 1959 with its initial campus in East Sussex. The university has a QS World University Ranking of 240 (2023) and a U.S. News ranking of 163 for 2022. The University of Sussex has five Nobel Prize winners on its faculty, as well as 15 Fellows of the Royal Society, 10 Fellows of the British Academy, 24 Fellows of the Academy of Social Sciences, and winners of the Crawford Prize and Bancroft Prize, among other honors.
