Northumbria University is a public university that is known for its research and academic excellence. It is located in Newcastle in the United Kingdom. It was called Newcastle Polytechnic, formed in 1969 by fusing three colleges.The Polytechnic became the City College of Education in 1974, followed by the Northern Counties College of Education in 1975. In 1992, it got university status, becoming the Northumbria University. It has earned severl accreditations, including AACSB. The institution has a 32,000-strong student population, with 3,300 foreign students on the main campuses and 3,000 more studying in their countries. It has 222,000 graduates from 176 global countries.There are two campuses in Newcastle, including one at Coach Lane. There is a campus at Liverpool as well.
