The MSc Civil Engineering Project Management aims to help you establish or advance your career in the global construction industry. Designed with input from industry, the course teaches an innovative mix of technical and construction project management, applicable to civil engineering contexts.

If you're not sure which area of civil engineering you want to go into, this broad-based course is a good choice. In years one and two, you'll concentrate on the core disciplines of structural engineering, water infrastructure engineering, fluid mechanics, and geotechnical mechanics, from both an analysis and design perspective.

The second half of the courses focuses more on specialised and advanced structural engineering areas such as bridge engineering, multi-storey building design, sustainability, geotechnics and your independent research project.

Our Bridge Engineering MSc is the only masters program in this area in Europe – and one of the very few around the world. Running since the early 1970s, our fully accredited course provides you with the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in specialist aspects of bridge engineering, including very recent erection methods for accelerated bridge construction (ABC).

The MSc in Computational Mechanics is organised between Swansea University and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain) in cooperation with the International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE, Spain).

You will receive deep multidisciplinary training in the application of the finite element method, as well as state-of-the-art numerical and computational techniques to solve and simulate challenging problems.

Your general knowledge of computational mechanics theory will be developed alongside an appreciation of computational simulation in industry and academia.

Training is also provided in the development of new software for the improved simulation of current engineering problems.
