About the University

Falmouth University is located in the seaside town of Cornwall in southwest England, a region known for its natural beauty and long-standing ties to the arts. It is a well-liked vacation spot because of the scenery, beaches, and tiny towns. Generation after generation of painters has been drawn to Cornwall, and Falmouth University derives its name from the Falmouth School of Art, which was founded in 1902 and is currently housed on the town's original Woodlane Campus.

The independent Institute of Photography takes advantage of the dramatic coastal backdrop to provide Europe's first BA in marine and natural history photography, including an underwater option. This offers typical studio-based courses in fine art, graphics, and illustration. It is also ranked at 101-150 in the 2023 QS World University Rankings (by Subject). It holds the 42nd position in the Times University Guide 2023 and the 97th rank in the Guardian University Guide 2023.
