Despite being established in 1882, Bedfordshire University became the University of Luton in 1993. Following the merging of the University of Luton and the Bedford campus of De Montfort University, the university changed its name to the University of Bedfordshire in 2006 with Privy Council consent. The University of Bedfordshire is a renowned, cutting-edge, creative, and dynamic institution of higher learning with a global presence. The main campuses in the UK are located in Luton, Bedford, Milton Keynes, and Aylesbury, and there are several partner institutions there as well as at the London School of Commerce in Birmingham and London. According to the Destination of Leavers Higher Education (DLHE) survey, 92% of Bedfordshire graduates from the previous academic year have found work or are continuing their education. Over 120 different nations are represented among the undergraduate and graduate students there. Additionally, according to data from the 2018 National Student Survey (NSS), 83% of Bedfordshire final-year students are happy with their education. This demonstrates that the university outperformed its rivals and earned a spot in the top half of all institutions when student happiness was taken into account. The university has a total of 11 research institutions, and a significant amount of its research output has been recognised as being of a worldwide standard and quality. The University also has a long history in education dating back to 1882, with partners in worldwide education in nations and continents including China, Vietnam, the Middle East, Europe, and South East Asia. The University's larger goal is to increase the number of highly trained graduates in Luton, Bedfordshire, and beyond, and the STEM building is a component of that goal. Additionally, the facility will assist in the development of new programmes in physiotherapy, computer science, pharmacy, nutrition, and mechanical and automotive engineering.
