Fellowship Eligibility Criteria 

Joseph Wharton fellowship is a merit-based opportunity for all international students to pursue Masters of Business Administration. First-year students from other nations can actively gain the benefits of the Joseph Wharton Fellowship. 

At Wharton, every student admitted into the MBA program is considered for the fellowship. You can check the below-mentioned pointers to gain more information about whether or not you will get admission. 

  • Candidates must have an undergraduate degree from a US accredited institution or any equivalent school in other countries. 
  • Scorecard for Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
  • Candidates who haven’t graduated from an English medium institution in an English-speaking nation must include results of an English Language Test like TOEFL or PET (valid till 2 years after the test date). You may not submit the test score if you can submit a formal letter with the application stating that your mode of education was English. 

Note – IELTS score is not permissible at the Wharton Business School.

Do note that the Wharton Fellowship Committee does not support any reconsiderations for the student applications. 

Note – Candidates who already have an MBA can also apply. However, they must mention a detailed explanation while filling out the application form. 

Benefits of Joseph Wharton Fellowship 

If you are eligible for the Joseph Wharton Fellowship, you can get a significant relief on the tuition fee for the MBA program. Currently, you are looking at the following benefits if you qualify for the grants.

  • A maximum financial grant of up to USD 20,000 (INR 14,92,849.00). This amount can only be used to cover tuition fees.

This reward is equally split between 2 years of the MBA program, i.e. 4 semesters.

Documents Needed for Joseph Wharton Fellowship

If you plan to apply for an MBA at the Wharton Business School, you must start by gathering the required documents. At hand, you should have:

  • Background information like Date of Birth, Contact Numbers, Family Information, etc
  • You must have paid the application fee of $275 (INR 20,500)
  • Two essays
  • Transcripts and mark sheets for past academic experience. 
  • GMAT/GRE Score
  • English Test Score
  • Latest Resume

How to Apply for the Joseph Wharton Fellowship

To apply for the Wharton fellowship, there is no additional procedure. You are automatically considered for the fellowship once you get admitted to the business school. 

Important Dates Related to the Joseph Wharton Fellowship

As all students selected for the MBA program are considered part of the Joseph Wharton Fellowship, there is no separate application form to be filled out. Selected students will be notified of the Fellowship Committee’s final decision at the time of their admission. To apply for admission to the Wharton Business School, there are 3 vital deadlines to be noted. 

  • Round 1 – Wednesday, September 8, 2021
  • Round 2 – Wednesday, January 5, 2022
  • Round 3 – Wednesday, March 30, 2022

The Deferred Admissions Round will be held on April 27, 2022.

Important points to note:

  • Applications should be submitted by the latest 5:00 PM (Eastern Time)
  • If the applications are received after round deadlines, they will be rolled into the next one.
  • No applications will be accepted post-March 30, 2022, 5:00 PM (ET)
  • Interviews are by invitation only
