With a core interest in materials chemistry, on this course, you’ll develop an in-depth understanding of the relationship between the structure and performance of different materials, the fundamental principles driving the development of innovative products, and strategies for the design and development of novel materials.

Postgraduate research in nanomaterials science provides an opportunity to engage in rigorous scholarly pursuit, and to contribute original research to a body of academia.

Students are able to advance their knowledge of nanomaterials science, while developing research skills and working with specialists in the field.

Students benefit from specialist computational facilities, training programmes to enhance research skills, and support from dedicated academic supervisors. Students are encouraged and supported to submit papers to international scientific journals, present findings at conferences, and share their knowledge with colleagues across the University.

Nanoscience is the study of structures and materials on the scale of nanometers.
