Southern Arkansas University is accredited by Higher Learning Commission to award associate, baccalaureate and master's degrees. AACSB International gives accreditation to the association to advance collegiate schools of business. ABET, CAEP and ACEN are among the accreditation agencies of this university. Council for Social Work Education, National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships and National Committee for Accreditation Coaching Education are all providing accreditation to this university. This university has a total enrollment of 10,105 students with internationally qualified teachers.

The setting of Southern Arkansas University is rural and the campus size is 1,491 acres. It utilises the semester-based calendar for its programmes and courses. This university offers a variety of student facilities on the campus including a women's centre, 24 hours emergency telephones, late-night escort service, daycare, health service nonremedial tutoring and health insurance are all among the provided facilities. Alcohol is not permitted for legal-aged students in this university. This university offers many programmes such as degrees including certificates, bachelor's, post-bachelor's, master's, post-master's certificate, doctorate-professional practice and doctorate -research or scholarship. There are also combined degree programmes in various subjects. Southern Arkansas University Acceptance rate (General)

Southern Arkansas University follows a selective admission process with an acceptance rate of 63%. Half of the applicants of this university have an ACT score of 18 and 25 or SAT score between 930 and 1150.   On the other hand, one-quarter of the admitted students achieved scores above these ranges and one-quarter scored below these ranges. This university considers GPA an important factor for its admission.
