It was then renamed as the Montana College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, while also being known as the Montana Agricultural College (MAC).The institution had assumed the name of Montana State College by the 1920s and it became a university in 1965, with approval granted by the 39th legislative assebly of the State.
