Staten Island Community College (SICC), established in 1956, and Richmond College, established in 1965, were combined to form the College of Staten Island in 1976.
Accreditation
The Middle States Commission on Higher Education, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA, (267) 284-5000, is responsible for accrediting CSI. The Commission is a voluntary, non-profit membership organisation that defines, upholds, and advances educational excellence among institutions with various purposes, student populations, and financial capacities. The Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation and the U.S. Secretary of Education both acknowledge it.

University campus
Students at College of Staten Island (CSI) have the chance to live in New York City while attending classes on the school's sprawling, picturesque 204-acre campus. The largest actual college campus in New York City is where CSI is filmed. On Staten Island, the campus is in the middle of a park-like setting. Along with extensive athletic facilities and an esteemed Center for the Arts, the campus has 300 classrooms, laboratories, and instructional spaces, study lounges, department and programme offices, and faculty offices.
The College of Staten Island, also known as CSI or CUNY, is a senior college under the City University of New York. The college has a 204-acre campus and offers 5 types of courses, namely, bachelors, master's, doctoral, associate programs and advanced certificate programmes. This public institution, founded in 1975, offers courses in 24 departments, including Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, History, English, Management, Philosophy, Social Work, etc.

Admission Eligibility Criteria
While some schools publish an unweighted GPA, most utilise a weighted GPA out of 4.0. College of Staten Island welcomes applicants with GPAs as low as 2.99. Your high school transcript may contain a mix of B and C grades.
