Computer engineers develop innovative products and solutions using computer components, systems, and software with applications far beyond simple laptop or desktop computer systems. This program, accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board, provides a foundation for an exciting career in a field that connects today’s graduates with tomorrow’s technology.

Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) consists of three eight-month academic sessions either following first-year Engineering or following a transfer program from first-year Science. The second year is common to both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. In the second year, two educational streams are offered: the project integrated program (on a trial basis), which integrates principles of electrical and computer engineering with project work, and the traditional integrated learning method. Some undergraduate curriculum changes will emphasize laboratory work and engineering design, without detracting from the program’s strong analytical base. You can select an option in Software Engineering, as well as a Minor in Honours Mathematics.

This program gives you the opportunity to focus on the emerging field of nanotechnology, giving you an introduction to the processes involved in the fabrication of nanoscale integrated circuits and in designing the tools necessary for the mass production of nanoscale systems.

The Joint Specialization in Anthropology and Sociology allows you to observe and investigate cultural life in diverse societies while acquiring the training you need to apply social science methods to large-scale research projects. By taking a critical look at social problems and social change, you will enhance your thinking about the reasons for poverty, prejudice, crime and conflict. You’ll be able to apply our methods to nearly any place in the world, and any topic — from medicine, art and myth to human rights, sexuality, justice and power. A Joint Specialization in Anthropology and Sociology will equip you to make positive and effective social change in our society and around the world.
