The Master of Engineering Leadership (MEL) in Urban Systems is a professional degree for system thinkers who want to address complex infrastructure challenges. This hybrid program combines graduate-level engineering and urban planning courses with UBC Sauder School of Business courses – giving you the skills and confidence to build your career and drive innovation in urban planning.

The Master of Engineering in Integrated Wood Design (MEng) educates students in the field of modern wood structures with a focus on up-to-date structural design, seismic design and mixed structures, as well as building physics, energy efficiency and sustainability.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers graduate courses and provides research facilities for well qualified students of recognized universities who wish to pursue advanced studies leading to the MEng, MSc, and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering. In addition, the Department offers a program in Engineering Management to graduate engineers of any discipline, leading to the MEng, MSc, and PhD degrees in Engineering Management.

The general fields of study include solid mechanics, dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, combustion, biomedical engineering, manufacturing engineering, and engineering management.

The MEng in Quality Systems Engineering has two main objectives. First, to provide students with the skills and technical expertise required to design, analyze and manage quality systems. Second, to maximize students' potential as researchers in the fields of quality systems, lean engineering and supply chain management. Those enrolled in the program will engage in applied research and coursework, examining existing theories and methods that currently influence the quality of systems, services, products and processes.
