History

The University of Saskatchewan (U of S) in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, is a public research university that was founded on March 19, 1907.  It is located on the South Saskatchewan River’s east bank. In 1907, the provincial assembly enacted an 'Act to create and incorporate a University for the Province of Saskatchewan.'

About Education

The University of Saskatchewan (USask) is at the forefront of addressing important global concerns such as water and food security as it is a research-intensive university. 

USask has a wide range of good programs to choose from, including business, medicine, and engineering. Collaboration across traditional academic lines, along with recognition of multiple methods of understanding and knowing, provides a new perspective on significant global concerns, as well as learning and discovery.

The University of Saskatchewan offers admission in three intakes: fall, winter, and spring. It has a large number of programs and courses to choose from. Arts and Science, Agriculture and Bioresources, Edwards School of Business, Biotechnology, clinical psychology, Education, Engineering, Dentistry, Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, Kinesiology, Law, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine, Physiotherapy and Medicine and Nutrition are just a few examples.

The university also features several museums and galleries. Geology and biology departments have merged to form the Museum of Natural Sciences. This museum features exhibitions of fossils, animals, and living plants to educate visitors about them. The learning environment is peaceful and non-segregated. The Kenderdine Gallery hosts six-week-long local, national, and international exhibitions.

Residing Options

This university has four residence halls for students: the first is Saskatchewan Hall, which can accommodate 150 students, the second is Qu'Appelle Hall, which can accommodate 180 students, the third is Athabasca Hall, which can accommodate 270 students, and the fourth is Souris Hall, which is specifically designed for married students who are bringing their families, and this hall has 67 two-bedroom apartments.

Student services

Student Services includes the Office of Student Affairs, Indigenous Student Services, and the Office of Career Advising & Mentorship, among other support and information groups. These services provide a safe environment for current MD undergraduate students to seek help whether they are experiencing academic or personal difficulties. It offers resources and help in the areas of mental and physical health, discrimination and mistreatment, disability, financial preparation, and career coaching and mentoring. 

Library services

The library's electronic collection is accessible all year round and 24 hours a day,  seven days a week. There are seven different campus locations to choose from.

ICT services

The Technology Assessment is a comprehensive way to evaluate potential purchases or requests for information system additions or improvements. With participation from numerous various disciplines within the institution, including Enterprise Architecture, proposals are examined for problems in four primary areas: risk, compliance, business continuity, and organizational fit.

Medical services

At the dental clinics, students are given the latest and evidence-based care by students under the supervision of licensed dentists with state-of-the-art technology.

The Veterinary Medical Centre (VMC) is a cutting-edge animal health facility that provides a wide range of clinical and referral services to animal owners and veterinarians in Western Canada.

The University of Saskatchewan is ranked number one in water resources research all over Canada.
