The University of Victoria, British Columbia's oldest post-secondary institution, was founded in 1903 as a McGill University affiliated college before achieving full autonomy under a charter on July 1, 1963. On March 1, 1963, Victoria Institution, which had been founded in 1903 as a McGill University affiliated college, obtained autonomy and full degree-granting authority.

Required Exams 

To secure University of Victoria admissions, the candidates must meet the following English proficiency test requirements –

University of Victoria Requirements for Admission

International students must meet the eligibility standards for the University of Victoria admissions process to be a part of the institution. Students must also meet English language proficiency requirements in addition to academic requirements. The following are the particular eligibility conditions for each program level:

Requirements for Undergraduates:

1. A minimum of 75% in CBSE's All India Senior School Certificate, CISCE's Indian School Certificate, or any other pre-university certificate issued after 12 years of academic education.

2. Conditional admission can be given with 80% or better in the Secondary School Examination 

Graduate Level Requirements (Master's program)

1. A four-year bachelor's degree from a University of Victoria-accredited institution

2. A minimum B average across the last two years of a bachelor's degree is required

3. Specific requirements based on the program applied for

Graduate Level Criteria (Doctoral Program) 

1. An appropriate master's degree (or equivalent) from a University of Victoria-accredited institution, or an A average in the last two years of a BA degree

1. TOEFL, IELTS, or MELAB scores (not more than two years old)

Graduate students with a strong academic record are eligible for funding from the University of Victoria. Master's students receive a CAD 17,500 (INR 10.23 lakh) per year scholarship, while PhD students receive a CAD 20,000 (INR 11.69 lakh) per year fellowship. All graduate students at UVic are eligible for UVic graduate awards of around CAD 10,000 (INR 584977.08) per year. All students are automatically considered for fellowships and awards by academic units; however, qualifying students must have an average in their final two years of course work. In addition, graduate students can apply for teaching and research assistantships.
