To qualify for the Skoll Scholarship, the student needs at least three years of experience driving social change. This includes establishing their organization or working with another firm. Moreover, they must provide evidence of their entrepreneurial activities and impact. 

The Skoll Scholarship eligibility also requires the students to demonstrate the characteristics of an entrepreneur. This will comprise persistence, positivity, open-mindedness, excellent communication skills, and commendable problem-solving capabilities. 

Lastly, the students must demonstrate why the scholarship supports their career goals. As the program funds their MBA course, they must explain their financial situation or needs.

The primary benefit of the Skoll Scholarship is that it provides complete educational and living expenses to complete an MBA at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School. In some cases, the authorities also offer partial scholarships to students. 

If the student cannot pursue an MBA degree due to financial constraints, this scholarship will be an ideal option.   

This MBA degree is a full-time program of one year handled by the Skoll Centre, based at the Saïd Business School. In addition, students will be a part of the Skoll Scholar community, consisting of globally renowned social entrepreneurs.

How to Apply For the Skoll Scholarship? 

To apply for this scholarship, students must enroll in the Saïd Business School MBA program. Then, they have to submit the scholarship essay questions and complete the MBA application.

If the student receives a confirmation about their acceptance to the MBA program, their scholarship application will be forwarded to the committee.

Then, they will receive a link via email about the Logistics and Reference Form, which they have to fill up. It will require the student to enter their contact details and answer some brief questions related to the scholarship.

Students must wait for further communication from the foundation after submitting this form. It is vital that the Saïd Business School accepts students for their MBA degree.    

Important Dates

Aspiring scholarship candidates must submit their applications and the required documents within the stipulated deadlines. Here are some important dates for the Skoll scholarship in the academic year 2023-24.

  • Application date for the Oxford Saïd MBA stage 1, 2, and 3 – 4th January 2023
  • Stage 1 scholarship application review – November 2022
  • Stage 2 scholarship application review – January 2023
  • Logistics and Reference Form submission deadline – Early April 2023
  • 1st stage online interview – End of April 2023
  • Final stage online interview – Middle of May 2023
  • Scholarship final declaration – Middle of May 2023

 

Selection Process

The candidate’s academic performance, social entrepreneurship experience, and submitted answers are essential for their selection. The selection will include multiple stages, and the authorities will update the candidate about their status at each stage.

After the final shortlisting, the selection committee will inform the candidates if they’re eligible for the first stage interview. Subsequently, if the candidate clears that round, they’ll move to the final interview.
