Risking to change the status quo of Portland while producing fearless graduates is what Portland State University has been doing since its inception in 1946. Today, it's the most diverse and popular public research university in Oregon. It ranks between 1201-1400, as per the QS World University Ranking, 2023. 

The Northwest Commission accredits the university on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). It has a high enrollment of over 23,000 students, out of which about 18,000 are pursuing an undergraduate degree, and more than 5,000 are studying a graduate course. Besides that, there are 1,690 instructional and research faculty and 720 academic professionals. 

The Portland State University is spread across 44 acres and divided into 48 PSU buildings. There are over 150 student organizations, including interests like American sign language, anime and manga, athletic and outdoor connect, women's leadership, geology, game and entertainment, Greek, graphic design, neuroscience, etc. Student clubs aside, the university has a recreational center that offers activities like an indoor track, stretching areas, cardio machines, a climbing center, a pool and spa, intramural sports, personal training, etc. 

Recreation is one aspect of Portland State University, but it is the academics that genuinely make the university one of the best in Oregon. It offers 201 degree programs – 91 bachelor's, 87 master's, and 21 doctoral programs. Top undergraduate majors include Psychology, Social Science, Marketing, Health Studies, Biology, etc. Similarly, graduate students often choose majors like education, social work, computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, etc. The university has an excellent acceptance rate, fixed at 95%.

The university aims to provide a well-rounded education to its students, including career support resources and services. It hosts career fairs, workshops, and events.
