Established in 1923, Lamar university is now one of the top leading universities in Beaumont, Texas. Since 1995, the university has been a loyal Texas State University System member. Based on various latest surveys, the total undergraduate enrollment in the university is about 16,000 students every year. 

Lamar university is widely famous for its exceptionally trained athletic teams, known as the Cardinals. In addition, the university has an innovative, modern setup stretching over an area of more than 299 acres. There are five undergraduate colleges at LU: the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, Education and Human Development, and Fine Arts and Communication. There is also a graduate college called the College of Graduate Studies and an honors college called the Reaud Honours College.
