John Jay College of Criminal Justice is accredited through the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), which oversees accreditation for institutions of higher education in five states (Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania), Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and other areas within and outside the country. 15,766 students. 11,270 are undergraduates and 474 are graduate students. With the admission process being selective and acceptance rate being 40.6%% the admissions may seem easy but are competitive and the students are selected carefully by consideration and full dedication. - A personal statement is required for most master’s and certificate programs
- Two or three academic or professional letters of recommendation are required for most of our graduate degree and advanced certificate programs.
- The MA in International Crime & Justice program is the only program that currently requires a writing sample. The student will be prompted from within the application to attach a 3 to 5 page writing sample about a specific topic.
- The General GRE (Graduate Record Examination) is normally required for the Forensic Science, Forensic Psychology, Forensic Psychology and Law, Forensic Mental Health Counseling, and the Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity programs
