Lancaster University’s ranking is commendable on most university ranking indexes. It is ranked #122 on the World University Rankings by Times Higher Education 2022, whereas the QS World University Rankings  2022 places the university at #132 globally.

Lakeland University is a Bachelor's and Master's Degree-granting liberal arts institution related to the United Church of Christ with nearly 2,500+ students enrolled across 24 countries. Our international institute offers more than 30 majors, including our newest academic programs including Bachelor’s Degrees in Food Safety and Quality, Graphic Design, and Management Information Systems as well as a new Master of Science Degree in Leadership and Organizational Development.

We offer evening and online courses through our centers in Milwaukee, Madison, Wisconsin Rapids, Chippewa Valley, Fox Cities, Green Bay, and Sheboygan. Lakeland also offers an Associates Degree program at our two-year international campus in Tokyo, Japan.

Lakeland is an Experiential Education institution. We believe the best way to learn is by pairing knowledge with practice. At our residential campus, students can earn their degree while gaining 12-18 months of professional work experience. Students have a pathway to graduate in four years with little or no tuition debt, making a Bachelor Degree accessible to anyone with the desire to learn. Our student-athletes are a force to be reckoned with, as our men's and women's teams and individuals compete in NCAA Division III baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling.

Like many institutions of higher learning, the University traces its roots to the beginning of teacher training. Northeastern was founded in 1867 in Blue Island, Illinois, as the Normal School, Cook County’s first teacher training institution. Northeastern has a rich tradition of educational innovation and prides itself in preparing teachers and administrators who make a difference in Chicago. That tradition continues to this day and has expanded to include all of the University’s academic disciplines, allowing the University to fully embrace the community in which it resides.

Over the years, the name, location, and mission of the University changed, but the commitment to learning and teaching has continued from generation to generation. The University has not only changed and grown, but it has expanded to address specific urban needs. The Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies was established in 1966 as an important expression of the University’s commitment to inner city communities and especially to the African American community. Three years later, in 1969, the University’s El Centro location was founded with a special focus on service to the large, diverse and growing Latino community. In 1978, the University opened the Chicago Teachers’ Center to offer professional development programs for urban teachers and administrators. Most recently, Northeastern joined the University Center of Lake County in 1996 as a founding member of a consortium of public and private universities offering college-level course work in Lake County. To complete the picture, this mix of essentially urban locations and partnerships also includes the Gensburg-Markham Prairie, which the University acquired in 1973. Consisting of 100 acres of unspoiled Illinois prairieland, it is located just south of Chicago—a beautiful preserve for future generations to learn from and enjoy.

This rich history tracks the dynamic growth of the city and the region. While keeping faith with its original mission—to provide an important resource for students from Illinois—today Northeastern attracts students from all over the world and is poised to become a model of regional public education with a truly global mission. Northeastern’s learning environment is enriched though the community’s ethnic, cultural, age, and language diversity. Today, Northeastern offers its 10,000 students more than 70 undergraduate and graduate programs in the arts, sciences, education, and business. Faculty encourage students to integrate classroom instruction with field-based learning, research, and service locally and around the globe.

Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) was established as Joplin Junior College held in the Joplin High School in 1937. The college was overseen by the University of Missouri's extension division and H.E. Blaine was appointed as its first dean. It was renamed as Jasper County Junior College in 1964. In 1965, legislation was passed forming the four-year institution called Missouri Southern College.

The new 320-acre campus was opened under the supervision of the first president Dr. Leon C. Billingsly in 1967. The college became Missouri Southern State College in 1972. It was granted the status of a university and received its current name in 2003. Currently, the university holds the accreditation of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

Located in Joplin, Missouri, in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, the University is within minutes from some of the greatest scenery and waterways in the nation. It consists of numerous administrative, academic and recreational buildings that offer hosts of amenities. Spiva Library, the campus' first building, contains lots of books and archives that can be accessed by the students. Reynolds Hall houses the departments of chemical and physical sciences, biology, and environmental health and mathematics. Hearnes Hall is the main administrative building. Fine Arts Building is home to art and music departments and the Spiva Gallery. Other important buildings include Billingsly Student Centre, Kuhn Hall, Ummel Technology Centre, Mills Anderson Justice Centre, and Julio S. Leon Health Sciences Centre.

Missouri Southern serves over 5,000 students in 140 plus academic programs. It houses many international students from across the globe and a team of distinguished and highly qualified faculty members. The student-faculty ratio at the university is 19:1. The university is also home to many student organizations that offer facilities for various extracurricular activities. It provides students with various career services that assist them in pursuing their professional goals.

MSSU has a number of notable and successful alumni. Allen Barbre and Richard Jordan are professional footballers who have played in the NFL. Bob Beatty coaches the football team Trinity Shamrocks. Lonny Chapman was a popular actor known for appearing on several drama series broadcasted on television. Janet L. Kavandi is an astronaut at NASA and a scientist currently serving as the NASA Glenn Research Center's Director. Gary Nodler used to be a Missouri State Senator. J. Eddie Peck is a famous actor best known for playing the role of Jake Martin in 'All My Children' and Cole Howard in 'The Young and the Restless'. Jeff Speakman is an actor and a martial artist.
