The University of Sydney Business School has an outstanding reputation for the quality of its research across a wide range of academic disciplines.

The Master of Philosophy takes at least one year to complete of full-time study, during which candidates undertake approved research and write a thesis of up to 50,000 words.

From 2021, Higher Degree by Research students will be required to complete some coursework as part of their candidature. Master of Philosophy students in the Business School will will undertake 24 credit points in a specialist program taken from a collection of units called ‘Table R’.

This Monash Master of Public Health, offered by the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, provides the full range of quantitative, analytical and communication skills necessary to work and provide leadership in the broad domain of public health. It also provides skills in the quantitative methods of the population-based health sciences and their problem-solving application for public health and primary care provision within Australia and developing countries.

You will learn, integrate and apply core knowledge and skills in public health in the core units of epidemiology, biostatistics, research methods and principles and practice and challenges of public health. You will also be able to choose an elective study program from a wide range of units to give you depth of understanding within your study program according to your career interests. To guide you in developing your elective study program, with depth for career development and interests, you are able to choose from the following specialisations: Epidemiology; Global and planetary health; Health economics; Health policy; Health promotion; Research or General stream.

The course offers you the opportunity to integrate and extend the knowledge and skills gained in your course through a capstone experience, as a professional practice development unit. There is also the opportunity to undertake a research project or case study (consultation with the course research project coordinator is required prior to enrolment in research units).

If you are fascinated by foreign investment, exchange rates, stock market fluctuations or corporate finance, consider a finance degree.

The Diploma in Business is an important stepping-stone to achieve your career and study goals. Students who undertake this diploma will be able to gain credit for up to the first year of study and articulate into the second year of many of the bachelor degrees in business at ACU, or exit with the Diploma in Business as a standalone qualification.

Not only does our Diploma in Business have lower entry requirements than our bachelor degrees, but it will help you to develop skills needed to succeed in more advanced tertiary study.

Our Diploma in Business provides domestic students with a Commonwealth supported place (CSP-funded), and will help you achieve your goals.
