The new BS in healthcare management at the University of New Orleans has been designed around three basic goals:

The Lester E. Kabacoff School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Administration offers one of the best-known hospitality and tourism management degrees in the country. This bachelor’s degree from UNO opens doors all across the hospitality and tourism industry. You’ll study hospitality, restaurant and tourism management from some of the world’s leading professors.

From world-class hotels to the massive tourism infrastructure supporting Mardi Gras, opportunities for hospitality students exist in New Orleans like nowhere else in the world. In UNO’s Bachelor of Science in civil engineering program, you will:

The rapid speed and widespread extent of urbanization will demand amplified basic services for the citizens including affordable housing, reliable water, wastewater, and storm water management systems, well-planned transportation provisions, and other efficient civil infrastructure utilities. Practicing engineers, designers, and construction managers currently face the challenge of changing the status quo of their work and adapting their design/management methods to embed sustainable thought process throughout all of their decision making methods. The University of New Orleans' Construction Management degree focuses on urban residential and commercial development coupled with rehabilitation and restoration of existing municipal infrastructures and historic preservation.

As a discipline, mechanical engineering draws on a wide variety of other disciplines: mathematics, life science, physical science, design, physics, and more. UNO’s Computer Science program offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and follows the guidelines of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). All CS majors will get hands-on programming experience, learn fundamental software design principles, and the use industry standard tool chains. CS majors have access to a number of research opportunities or paid internships and apprenticeships through our many industry partners. Our program has diverse course offerings in Artificial Intelligence, Database Administration, Computer Networking, Software Engineering, Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, Game Development, Mobile Applications, Web frameworks, Computer Forensics, Bioinformatics, Computer Graphics, and much more. The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, providing study in financial and managerial accounting, auditing, taxation, and accounting systems. The program prepares students for careers in public, industrial, and not-for-profit accounting, and in financial management. The program also provides a foundation for entrance into graduate programs in business and accounting and is excellent preparation for the study of law. The Department of Anthropology offers a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. This program is organized around applied urban anthropology and prepares students for careers in research and policy or for graduate work in anthropology and related fields.

Art history is an interdisciplinary field that investigates art as part of history and the larger cultural, socio-economic, and political context in which it was produced. Studying art history prepares you for a range of professions in art education, publishing, and the museum and gallery worlds. The curriculum is designed to train you in visual literacy help you become an independent, creative thinker. It emphasizes experiential learning by offering courses featuring hands-on activities and real-world projects, and by facilitating internship opportunities that will make you a stronger candidate in the job market. This degree is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.

The Studio Art curriculum is designed to prepare students to function in a variety of artistic roles. This degree is a NASAD accredited degree totaling 120 credits for the university general degree requirements within the context of a liberal arts college. 54 credits are dedicated to the studio art field and can be taken in a number of disciplines including, printmaking, photography, digital arts, animation, painting, drawing and sculpture. In the final year of study students will create an individual body of work that culminates with a finished exhibition to be shown in our on-campus gallery.
