Our mission is to prepare students to be actively engaged in today's complex business environment, specifically as it relates to the management of people and processes within organizations. The BSBA management major course of study will prepare you with the tools and knowledge needed to excel in a variety of management positions, ranging from entry-level to management and beyond. The degree offers emphases in both Management and Human Resource Management, allowing you to tailor the program to your own unique interests and career goals.

The BSBA marketing major course of study is intended to prepare graduates for positions in personal selling, product and services marketing, promotions, consumer behavior, marketing and sales analysis, retailing and supply chain logistics.

If you're looking for the hands-on experience you need to get a job as a technician in the world of manufacturing, the Associate of Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET) is the way to go.  The curriculum primarily covers computer aided drafting, basics in machining, CNC (computer numerical control), CAM (computer assisted manufacturing), automation, and materials.

Industrial Engineering Technology prepares you for a productive career in manufacturing, as well as business and service enterprises. Graduates with this degree figure out how to make or do things better. They increase efficiency, improve the quality of products and services, and ensure worker health and safety.

As companies adopt management philosophies that stress continuous productivity and quality improvement to survive in the increasingly competitive world market, the need for Industrial Engineering Technologists is growing. This major will help you develop the skills needed to engineer processes and systems that will eliminate wastes of time, money, materials and energy, thereby saving money.

The Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree is for students who would like to complete a Bachelor’s Degree after having completed the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree at a community or technical college. This degree provides students the opportunity to complete an abbreviated program of study relevant to their career objectives. Students pursuing this degree are required to select a program of study from among the Minors or Certificates offered at the university. Minor or Certificate completion is posted to the student transcript upon completion of the degree. This degree is offered online. 

 The requirements for this degree include the following: 

1. Students must complete an AAS degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education prior to graduation from MSSU with the BAS degree. 
2. All Baccalaureate Degree Gen Ed Core 42 Requirements General Education Requirements of the university must be met. 
3. Students must earn the required 39 upper division credits as specified by university policy. 
4. Students must complete a Minor or Certificate in a field of their choice at Missouri Southern. Each Minor or Certificate chosen must require at least 15 semester credit hours. 
5. All other university policies related to admissions and bachelor’s degree completion must be met. 

Students who have graduated with a biomedical biology emphasis from Missouri Southern lead to careers in the following areas:

• Industry laboratories
• Governmental positions such as with the Food and Drug Administration and National Institutes of Health
• Post-graduate schools with biological sciences and biomedical sciences programs
• Attending professional programs such as medical, dental, pharmacy, physician assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy, veterinary, optometry, and chiropractor schools
• Regional and state health departments
• Health-related occupations such as perfusion therapists, orthotic and prosthetics professionals, genetic counselor, biomedical engineer, etc.

Students interested in biomedical sciences biology will gain a strong foundation in biological sciences, chemistry, and physics to prepare students for additional study within a specific field or to work in specific industries and laboratories.

We offer a variety of courses including: genetics, molecular biology, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, advanced cell biology, advanced human dissection, microbiology, pathogenic bacteriology, immunology, epidemiology, and histology as well as chemistry and physics courses.
