Exercise science at Wittenberg provides students with academic preparation and practical training that are required to be successful in various careers in the growing field of exercise science.

Exercise science deals with the study of acute and chronic effects of physical activity on the human body, focusing on both how and why the body responds to a range of stimuli. Wittenberg's program includes courses in anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, and exercise testing and prescription. In Wittenberg's program students whose interests vary from nutrition and biomechanics to exercise testing and prescription find the flexibility to choose courses and internships that match their personal interests and academic and professional goals.

The Bachelor of Science in Textile Product Science (TPS) prepares students to work in a global industry that includes fiber-engineered products for medical, geotextiles, architecture, fiber-reinforces composites and traditional apparel and home-furnishing applications. TPS program is comprised of thirteen (13) core textile courses, which delineate all TPS majors. The true interdisciplinary nature of Textile Product Science is realized in the student’s ability to select advanced work in one of the five, 9-course specializations.

Another dimension of the program will be to educate and graduate fully integrated individuals who possess the technical and social competence and confidence to succeed in professional practice and advanced education, be lifelong learners and exercise responsible stewardship.

The Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) is an undergraduate liberal arts degree program for adult learners. It is designed primarily to deepen student knowledge in an academic area and foster critical thinking, analytic reasoning, and an ability to synthesize information.

The BAS articulates well with specialized Applied Associate Science (AAS) degree programs, providing a streamlined path to completion of traditional academic requirements leading to the baccalaureate degree. It meets students' professional and personal goals while developing a depth of knowledge and proficiency of skill that translates well to the workplace. However, it is not organized in the same way as a traditional baccalaureate degree. Students planning graduate study should consult with an academic advisor prior to undertaking this degree program.
