This unique Master of Science (MSc) degree program enables students to develop interdisciplinary skills, and gain a deep understanding of technical and applied knowledge in data science and analytics. Graduates are highly trained, qualified data scientists who can go on to pursue careers in industry, government or research. The program is offered as a one year full-time or two year part-time MRP option and two year full-time Thesis option.

When you study computer science and mathematics, you’ll use algorithms and computational theory to create mathematical models or define formulas that solve mathematical problems. In other words, you'll design new tools that can predict the future.

Computer science with mathematics and statistics gives students the flexibility to combine a traditional computer science degree with a non-traditional field. Our state-of-the-art labs for high-performance computing, networks and artificial intelligence will give you experience with the tools you’ll use in the field.

Data science is a growing sector, with the potential to change the way we live in the future by solving or offering insights into many of the largest problems of today. On this dynamic course, you’ll learn the programming and maths skills to use these technologies to solve real-world problems relevant to your existing knowledge and expertise.

You’ll learn to create intelligent models which can predict future outcomes based on past data, generate artwork, or give you incredible insight into hard-to-find connections within your datasets. You’ll gain a deep understanding of data flows within organisations and systems, and how huge amounts of data can be engineered to produce knowledge.
