QS World University Rankings 2024 Out: 15 Leading Universities Shaping Global Education

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) continues its record-breaking streak at number one for the 12th consecutive year in the recently released Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings (WUR) 2024. MIT is followed by the University of Cambridge, that retains its 2nd position, and the University of Oxford, that climbs one position to rank at 3rd place.

As has been the trend over the years, the rankings are dominated by the US universities, with 8 of them featuring in the top 15.

The rankings this year also introduce three new metrics, i.e., Sustainability, Employment Outcomes, and International Research Network. The existing parameters include Academic Reputation, Faculty/Student Ratio, Citations per Faculty, International Student Ratio, and International Faculty Ratio.

QS World University Rankings 2024 features 1,500 institutions across 104 locations. The results were drawn by analyzing 17.5mn academic papers and the expert opinions of over 24,000 academic faculty and employers.
