Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting at the University of Mount Union will experience a blend of rigorous coursework combined with real-world internship opportunities.

The demand for accounting graduates continues to grow as corporations develop, tax laws change and new government regulations are introduced.  Businesses employ large numbers of accountants as treasurers, controllers, internal auditors, budget analysts, cost accountants and staff accountants to name a few. 

The accounting program at Mount Union prepares students for careers in public accounting, corporate accounting, governmental accounting and not for profit accounting.

The four-year human resource management degree requires 128 credit hours of coursework, with 60-62 hours taken in the major. The University’s general education program, the Integrative Core, allows students to explore areas of study outside their field of interest while developing essential leadership and communication skills that employers value.

The Bachelor of Arts degree in management at the University of Mount Union is a broad and versatile program that enables students to benefit from an unusually vast array of courses taught by professors whose business management careers offer diverse experience in the field. Management majors will benefit from invaluable hands-on experience and service opportunities outside of the classroom. 

While pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing at the University of Mount Union, students will study the fundamentals of marketing including consumer behavior, applied strategy, integrated communications, research, and policies. As part of the program, students will also be exposed to a wide variety of courses that will build skills necessary for a successful career in the world of business and marketing.

The Bachelor of Science in Multi-Platform Software Development degree at the University of Mount Union focuses on the modern techniques of software construction and programming for a variety of device types, from desktops computers to smartphones, tablets to servers.

Required courses in networking, database systems, and web design provide a strong foundation that prepares students for the demands of the computing industry now and into the future.

The Bachelor of Arts in national security and foreign intelligence analysis (NSFIA) degree from the University of Mount Union is an interdisciplinary program that is geared towards preparing you for a career in the national security and foreign intelligence fields. Our national security major is geared toward helping you develop the critical skills that will prepare you to identify, analyze, and deal with current and emerging threats facing the United States.

To prepare you to work in the field of national security, Mount Union’s NSFIA major pulls from a variety of disciplines. In this program, you will take courses ranging from foreign policy, intelligence analysis and terrorism to cyberwar, economic warfare and market/business intelligence, among others. In addition to focusing on two critical world regions, you will also be required to minor in a foreign language and complete a national security-related internship.

he Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering degree at the University of Mount Union is designed to foster an innovative mindset while offering the crucial knowledge to successfully impact this rewarding and high-growth field. This interdisciplinary program works in collaboration with the successful health sciences programs at Mount Union to provide students with unique hands-on experiences. 

The Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering degree at the University of Mount Union prides itself on providing individual attention to help students become proficient in structural, hydraulic, and environmental engineering, among others. Our civil engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET and provides students with hands-on experiences and internship opportunities throughout their undergraduate career. Civil engineering, along with mechanical engineering, are currently offered at the University of Mount Union as four-year ABET accredited degree programs. The University recently added three new engineering programs – biomedical, computer, and electrical engineering.

The University of Mount Union’s BS in electrical engineering degree provides students with hands-on experiences in the application of scientific and mathematical principles utilized to design, manufacture, and control structures, machines, processes, and systems.

The discipline of electrical engineering embodies many fields such as microelectronics, electromagnetics, computers, power systems, controls, robotics, telecommunications, signal and image processing, instrumentation, solid state materials and devices, software development, bioengineering, and mechatronics. Real-life applications include power generation and distribution, electronic communication systems, manufacturing automation, aerospace avionics systems, sensors and instrumentation, medical diagnostic tools, signals, and image processing.  

The BS in Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Mount Union is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. The mechanical engineering program is a four-year degree offered at Mount Union. The major is one of five four-year engineering degrees in the School of Engineering. 

The University of Mount Union’s Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry degree is approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS) Committee and prepares students for rewarding careers in biotechnology, molecular biology, pharmacology, and other health and medical sciences.

The University of Mount Union’s Bachelor of Science in Chemistry program is accredited by the American Chemical Society (ACS). A student interested in obtaining their bachelor’s degree in chemistry will receive a solid foundation in chemistry techniques.

The Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of Mount Union prepares students with the knowledge of software, hardware organization, operating systems, theory of communication, and principles of programming languages. 

The computer science program offers classes designed to develop the skills needed for careers in the computer science field, an industry that is expected to show significant growth in demand for qualified employees over the next few years. 

The University of Mount Union’s Bachelor of Science in environmental science emphasizes examining environmental issues through hands-on field and laboratory activities. Students experience in-depth training in one selected field of science – chemistry, geology or biology – in preparation for a rewarding career.

The Bachelor of Science in mathematics degree at the University of Mount Union develops students’ ability to think critically and use mathematical reasoning to solve complex and everyday problems. The Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience at the University of Mount Union allows students to explore the impact that the brain has on behavior and mental processes through a number of courses and hands-on experiences with peers and faculty. Students will learn about the physiology of the brain, its impact on behaviors and psychiatric disorders, as well as basic chemistry and biology skills needed to understand neuroscience. The major itself focuses as well on clinical and health outcomes of brain science.

Master fundamental principles of the sub-atomic and the universe in our dynamic program that blends theory, experimentation and exploration. Student-centered projects develop the individual as a physicist and/or astronomer. Hands-on experiences solidify the concepts using simple and complex equipment including high-energy lasers, precision spectrometers or optical and radio telescopes.   

With our $23 million natural sciences facility, Bracy Hall, physics and astronomy students have the classroom and laboratory essentials required for hands-on learning. Our newly renovated introductory labs are designed with active learning in mind with technology that helps you learn. A dedicated electronics lab, machine shop and advanced lab space, provide students with multiple areas to work on projects with research and industry grade equipment.  For astronomers, there is a roof-top observatory with a variety of state-of-the-art and traditional telescopes.

he Bachelor of Arts in public relations degree at the University of Mount Union will help you become a creative and strategic problem-solver who utilizes all forms of communication to develop and maintain effective relationships with a variety of stakeholder audiences. 

As a public relations major, you will discern the root of the public relations process – strategic issues management, which involves examining, analyzing, and inferring issues, attitudes, and behaviors that can positively and negatively impact an organization and its relationships with all stakeholders. 

The public relations curriculum meets the rigorous academic standards of the nation's largest professional organization serving the communications industry, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).  By journeying into applied research, audience segmentation, campaign formation, integrated marketing communications, and creative and tactical content development across diverse platforms, you will become proficient and poised to practice public relations in an organization, a nonprofit, or an agency setting.
 

While pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in sport business degree at the University of Mount Union, students will explore the world of sport industry and how it interacts with the business world. Students will study sport management, finance, public relations, marketing, and business administration while gaining hands-on experience through a variety of research and projects in the field. 

The sport business major prepares students for a variety of professions, offering career-related experiences creating sponsorship proposals, business plans, event hosting bid proposals, sales training, and group ticket sales. The sport business degree program at Mount Union has received specialized accreditation through the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) located in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA.
