ART-Museum Studies Concentration (BA)
The Museum Studies concentration is a Bachelor of Arts degree program offered in the Department of Art. Museum Studies is an important emerging field in art. The museum studies program at GC is one of few undergraduate programs offered in the U.S.
Students will learn and understand the internal operations of a museum organization through the classes that are offered. The courses include Introduction to Museums Studies, introduces students to lectures, lab and gallery work, discussions, slide presentations and field trips to museums, where students learn about the history and functions of museums, their missions, diverse collections, exhibition programming, interaction with its audience and community and learn the organizational structure within a museum. Exhibition Design presents the study of museum and gallery design principles and exhibition construction techniques. Critical & Curatorial Theory & Development focuses on curatorial principles, how a curator researches and critically selects artists for exhibitions, develop exhibitions and collections and work in a museum environment. Museum Administration focuses on museum administration and its organizational structure.

All undergraduate biology majors will receive thorough instruction in the scientific process and interpretation of scientific data along with experimental design and experience with modern instrumentation. The Bachelor of Science in Biology will provide students with a sound understanding of cellular and molecular biology, organismal biology, evolution and ecology.
There are three broad subdivisions of biology that are invariably recognized: Cellular and Molecular Biology; Organismal Biology; and Evolution/Ecology. GC Biology graduates will have a knowledge and awareness of all three areas and specific knowledge regarding: the chemical composition of life, cell structure and function, molecular, Mendelian and population genetics, the diversity of life, the form and function of living systems, evolutionary theory and ecology.

Students in the Exercise Science program prepare for a career through "hands-on" learning experiences. There is an increasing need throughout the world for qualified exercise science professionals. Future career opportunities exist in the following settings or positions: corporate fitness programs, commercial fitness centers, cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation programs, strength and conditioning coordinator, personal training services and ergonomics.
Students must be first aid/CPR certified and are required to complete service learning projects within their discipline. The curriculum consists of courses from a variety of disciplines including public health, health sciences and behavioral sciences. Central to the program of study is applied service learning opportunities offered through a range of course projects and internships. Students with a Race and Social Justice Concentration are required to take six hours in Sociology, at least three hours in the Humanities, at least three hours in the Social Sciences, at least three hours in courses related to Gender and at least three hours in History. Additionally, the student’s program of study will include at least one course that addresses issues in each of the following areas: African Studies, African-American Studies, Latin American Studies and Women’s Studies.
A student can choose to pursue a Race, Ethnicity and Gender Studies concentration within the Liberal Studies major at any time in her/his college career, although students are advised to declare their major early in order to ensure a timely completion of their degree program.
