Over one year, you’ll complete units capturing different aspects of financial management. To make the most out of the course, you’ll need to adapt quickly to this level of study. We know this can be difficult, so we’ve given this course its own dedicated programme leader who you can turn to for support at any time.

This could be consulting for a real business (recently Manchester City FC, for example), offering your skills to a charity, or working with course-mates to set up a business. All three could lead to job opportunities – one recent graduate who was the sales director of her young enterprise business is now a regional sales manager at Ribena Lucozade.

If you take French as a major or equal subject you will be required to spend your third year abroad in France. If French is your minor subject, the course will be three years with no study abroad.

Minor languages available
French, Spanish, Modern Standard Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese.

The business element of the course covers areas like people management, finance, marketing, business environment and strategy. You’ll combine this with both business and company law. So, while this course may not offer a path to practicing law, it will equip you with the insight and understanding to help you stand out in a very competitive market.

You can choose to study over three years, but we also offer a four-year option that includes a year building real-world experience with an employer or studying abroad with one of our academic partners.

You’ll learn important skills during the core units on the course, including programming, system analysis, and data visualisation. You’ll even get to develop your own prototype e-commerce system. As well as the technical side of things, you’ll develop a real understanding of the business environment and how you fit into the industry.
