THE Young University Rankings 2022 is out now

The Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2022 is out, and PSL Research University Paris has bagged the top spot. This is the first time a French university has led the list and taken over Singapore’s  Nanyang Technological University, which now stands at number two. The universities are evaluated on 13 parameters set by THE. 

The PSL, Nanyang Technological University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Erasmus University Rotterdam, and Hongkong Polytechnic University are among top five educational institutes globally. 

Erasmus University Rotterdam is a new entrant in the top five list. Another new entry, Institut Polytechnique de Paris, bagged the sixth spot.

Apart from these, 11 Australian universities have ranked among the top 50. The University of Canberra received 17th rank with 62.7 scores against 16th in 2021. Deakin University holds 42nd ranking in comparison to 49th last year. University of Technology Sydney, Queensland University of Technology, University of Wollongong, Western Sydney University, Griffith University Curtin University, Australian Catholic University, University of South Australia, and the Swinburne University of Technology are the other Australian universities that feature among the top 50. 

From the United States, only George Mason University ranked 47th among the top 50. The university has slipped down six spots from last year and received 53rd rank this time. 

Brighton and Sussex Medical School from the United Kingdom ranked 32 this year and moved 12 places up compared to 2021. 

The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings ranks the best universities that are not more than 50-years-old. The universities are assessed on various parameters such as research, teaching, international outlook, knowledge transfer, and others to provide the most accurate rankings.
