Accreditation, Number of Students and Faculties at Columbus State University 

The Southern Association of Colleges and the Schools Commission on Colleges have accredited Columbus State University. The Georgia Board of Nursing has approved a Baccalaureate degree program in nursing, while both the master’s degrees and baccalaureate degrees have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) has accredited the Educator Preparator at CSU. CACREP (Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) has accredited the Master of Science in Community Counseling Degree program and Master of Education in School Counseling. The institutional members of NASAD (National Association of Schools of Arts and Design) have accredited the Department of Art. 

University Campus, Facilities, Labs & Courses

Set in a city, the campus size of the Columbus State University is 132 acres. The University has recently updated and renovated two of the workhorse classroom buildings-Howard Hall and Arnold Hall. A laboratory science classroom building has also been planned. Besides, there are recently renovated intramural fields, a student centre, a new soccer complex, classroom laboratories, auditorium, offices, cafeterias and other gathering zones. Some of the campus computer labs remain open for 24 hours as well. There are several lab facilities at Columbus State University such as the Drawing Classroom Lab, iMac Computer Lab, Painting Lab, Photography Shooting Lab, Photography Digital Lab, Photography Darkroom Lab, Plaster Casting Lab, Printmaking Lab, Sculpture Fabrication Lab and so on.

Admissions committees at Columbus State University are selective with a Fall 2021 Acceptance Rate of 79%. 50% of the applicants admitted to CSU have an ACT score between 18 and 24 and a SAT score between 870 and 1130. 

Admission Eligibility Criteria

These are the admission eligibility criteria of Columbus State University

  • In order to get admission into CSU, applicants need an institutional GPA of 2.5. 
  • The minimum SAT scores of the applicants in Critical Reading is 440 and in Math it is 410. 
  • The traditional freshman must show successful completion of the Required High School Curriculum with 17 units. 

Documents, Test & Average Score Required

Following are the documents required: 

  • The applicants must submit a non-refundable application fee of $40. 
  • The official transcripts of the applicants must be submitted to the university. 
  • The applicants need to submit proof of their ACT/SAT scores to the university. 
  • The immunization record of the applicants must be submitted to the university during the time of admission. 
  • Transient applicants must submit a transient permission, which must be signed by the registrar or other designated officers of the applicant’s current institution. 

The tests required for getting admission into Columbus State University are:

  • ACT and SAT. 
  • Admission Assessment. This is applicable to nursing courses. 
  • CLEP exam
  • eCore Exams 
  • HESI RN Admission Assessment. This is applicable to the school of Nursing. 
  • Language Testing International (LTI)
