The oldest publicly supported institution in the state is CCSU, which was established in 1849. Dr. Zulma R. Toro became the university's thirteenth president in January 2017. Ten academic buildings, the Student Centre, the Burritt Library, and various laboratories are among the campus's amenities. On campus, there are various computer labs, the biggest of which is in Marcus White Hall. Memorial Hall, Hilltop Dining Centre, and the Student Centre all include dining areas. All of the academic halls are home to additional computers and labs. Large meeting places for events and msical and theatrical performances include Welte Hall, Maloney Hall, and the Student Centre.
