The program is designed for students who wish to enhance their research expertise in the areas of human resources and strategic management. The program covers fundamental contemporary business concepts and is divided into four thematic terms. Each term is capped by an integrative course applying the learned knowledge in a real-life context.

Collaborate with faculty members who are carefully selected based on their in-depth subject knowledge, proven teaching and facilitation skills and hands-on familiarity with the “real life” business world. Offered by John Molson School of Business’ Goodman Institute, the MBA in Investment Management is a rigorous program that prepares you to pass the challenging CFA charter exams, while earning an internationally recognized John Molson MBA. This program is offered jointly in Montreal and Toronto and allows our students to pursue work and networking opportunities in Canada’s two largest job markets, resulting in 96% of our students being employed within 3 months of graduation.

Classes are held Wednesday evenings and all-day Saturday, giving our students the flexibility to work full- or part-time and take advantage of internship opportunities. Candidates will complete the full program within 3 years, however candidates who already have their CFA level 1 and extensive finance experience may be considered for admissions into the 2-year accelerated program.

The Master’s of Supply Chain Management (MSCM) program provides students with an inter-disciplinary perspective, exposing them to a number of business and engineering areas, including marketing, industrial engineering, statistics, finance, change and stakeholder management and information systems. The program is focused on applied teaching and research of real-life supply chain management (SCM) issues. Students will tackle a SCM problem in the field within the context of an applied research project.

Graduates from our program will be particularly well positioned for careers in consulting, manufacturing, retail, logistics, distribution and software, as companies over the world are increasingly leveraging supply chain expertise to gain competitive advantage. The program will also provide a springboard for those students wishing to pursue a PhD.

The Master of Applied Science in Information Systems Security trains students to design, implement and manage the security of real-life information systems. Through applied research and academic coursework, you will be exposed to theories and practices currently used in securing information systems. You will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories and established research centres in a Faculty whose research topics include biometrics, cyber forensics, database security and cryptography. Financial support may be provided by a thesis advisor. This program has a Co-op option. Students should contact their academic advisor for more information.

The MEng in Information Systems Security trains students to design, implement and manage the security of real-life information systems. Through applied research and academic coursework, you will examine the theories and practices currently used in the security of information systems. You will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories and research centres in a faculty whose areas of study include cyber forensics, database security and cryptography, among many other categories. Some examples of current research projects include quantitative models of network vulnerabilities, analysis and design of stream ciphers and security evaluations of open-source softwares.

The Master of Software Engineering expands students' knowledge and research capabilities in specific areas of software engineering. Software engineers apply engineering principles and practices to design, test, operate and maintain computer software. The MASc program should appeal to students with an undergraduate degree in software engineering or computer science as well as students of related disciplines, such as computer engineering who wish to further their knowledge in a specific area of software engineering. It is ideal for IT professionals who wish to gain a solid education in software engineering at the theoretical and practical levels. The MASc in software engineering consists of coursework and research, culminating in the presentation of a thesis. Graduates can pursue their training at the Doctoral level (PhD), the department’s highest degree, and attain the greatest possible expertise in their chosen fields.

The MEng in Software Engineering is an advanced program in which students and IT professionals broaden their understanding of software engineering and its applications. Software engineers apply engineering principles and practices to design, test, operate and maintain computer softwares. Students in the program will enhance their analytic and design skills and improve their ability to present technical material in written form. Graduates are trained to work on all aspects of the software product life cycle. They learn how to develop high-capacity computer software in a controlled, systematic and quantifiable manner and to ensure that it is reliable, efficient and financially viable. The normal duration of the program is two years, but it is also open to those interested in part-time study.

The Master of Aerospace Engineering is a course-based program that emphasizes hands-on, multi-disciplinary training in the field. Students take part in project-based learning, graduating as well-qualified engineers with promising career opportunities. They train with aerospace industry partners on customer-focused research projects, supervised by experienced engineers and university faculty members. Our internships provide a balanced, global outlook that enhances graduates' value in the job market. The program is offered in collaboration with other Quebec universities and as many as 20 industry partners. The curriculum is designed to meet the evolving needs of the aerospace sector and is coordinated by two Quebec-based industry organizations: the Comité industries/universités sur la maîtrise en génie aéronautique et spatial (CIMGAS) and the Centre d'adaptation de la main-d'oeuvre aérospatiale au Québec (CAMAQ).

The Master of Applied Science program in Chemical Engineering is a thesis-based program that focuses on the design of new chemical manufacturing processes and on the properties of novel materials. We train skilled engineers that find novel ways in which to solve problems that have significant impacts on everyday life, ranging from climate change to food security. Our faculty members are experts in fields such as green chemical processes, polymers and nanomaterials, new battery materials, environmental health diagnostics, and the fundamental study of the properties of materials. We place particular emphasis on developing sustainable solutions for the energy sector as well as other sectors. Montreal offers unique opportunities to work in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, and companies supplying the aerospace and transportation sector.

The MASc in Civil Engineering increases your technical knowledge in the planning and designing of facilities, their construction processes, their operation and their impact on the surrounding environment. The program strengthens specific areas of knowledge gained at the undergraduate level and provides an introduction to graduate research. Students interested in the course-work masters program should refer to the MEng Program instead.

The MEng in Civil Engineering is a course-based program that increases technical knowledge in the design of built facilities, their construction processes, their operation and maintenance and their impact on the surrounding environment. The Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering, offers comprehensive programs in building and civil engineering. The program is designed to strengthen specific areas of knowledge gained at the undergraduate level and to provide an introduction to graduate research.

The MEng in Construction Engineering and Management trains engineers in the design and implementation of construction processes. Civil engineering calls for intelligent, innovative and efficient delivery of construction services. Students are introduced to a wide range of project delivery systems, risk management, value engineering and alternative dispute resolution methods. Coursework places particular emphasis on sustainable development. You will learn about state-of-the-art construction methods and project management strategies, as well as project planning, scheduling and cost estimation methods. Our research facilities are equipped with thermal imagery systems, ground penetrating radar, ladybug spherical cameras, laser scanning and more. Faculty members also oversee a number of cutting-edge research laboratories, including Construction Engineering Management Group. This program prepares you for a career and leadership role in the public and private sectors.

The Master of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering is a thesis-based program that introduces students to the research methods used in the field of electrical and computer engineering. It builds on specific areas of knowledge gained at the undergraduate level. The Master of Applied Science (MASc) program is intended for students who are interested in pursuing advanced studies and research at the postgraduate level, including the completion of a thesis. Students who want to continue on to a PhD should enroll in the MASc program. Practicing engineers who wish to follow a course-based program should apply to the MEng instead. This degree is primarily for students interested in full-time study.

The Master of Engineering in Electrical and Computer Engineering is a course-based program designed to enhance the knowledge, design skills and presentation abilities of practicing engineers. This program combines practical course work with the option to complete one or more projects. Students who want the option to continue on to a PhD should enrol in the MASc program instead of the MEng program.

The MEng in Environmental Engineering focuses on the design and implementation of waste management technologies, including water, wastewater and air treatment processes. Many communities now recognize the importance of sustainable engineering and are seeking to upgrade treatment facilities, capture greenhouse gases and improve environmental impact assessment tools. Students will gain a deeper understanding of environmental problems and regulations from both a national and global perspective. As Concordia houses the local secretariat of the United Nation’s program for global sustainability, students are trained to be at the forefront of sustainable development practices. Beyond the classroom, MEng students have the opportunity to conduct research in various domains of Environmental Engineering. They can also benefit from the Concordia Institute for Water, Energy and Sustainable Systems (CIWESS), which promotes research on new systems, technologies and solutions for water, energy and resource conservation.

The Master of Applied Science in Industrial Engineering is a thesis-based program designed to enhance specific areas of knowledge gained at the undergraduate level and to introduce students to the research methods of industrial engineering. You will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories and established research centres in a department that promotes interdisciplinary research and development in industrial control, computer-aided vehicle engineering, composites and computational fluid dynamics. Our department is at the forefront of research and graduate training in Canada. The program combines practical course work with a research thesis that allows you to focus on a topic of your choice. Students interested in the course-work master's program should refer to the MEng Program instead.
