Strategies for Excelling in TestAS

TestAS evaluates your general academic knowledge and expertise in the subject-specific module you choose. The most important part is preparing a strategy to help you clear the test effectively.

Here are some tips on how you can excel on this test.

  • You should thoroughly go through the format and syllabus of the TestAS before beginning your preparation.
  • It is important to focus on core skills that are assessed in the examination, including logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, and language skills.
  • You should practice as many questions as possible to be well-prepared for the examination.
  • Always ensure you carefully read all the tasks or questions during the examination. You can miss essential information if you read too quickly and do not pay attention.
  • Following the order of the tasks is advised, as the first ones will be relatively easier than the latter. Hence, you should prefer to go by the serial order in your test booklet.
  • Do not spend too much time on just one question, as it is a time-based exam. If you find a tricky question needing more time, return after finishing the remaining ones. Time management is crucial in the TestAS.
  • In case of mathematical problems, try to solve the question first and come up with your solutions before looking at the options. Once done, you should cross-check the solution in the multiple-choice options. If you go the other way of checking the options first and then solving the question, you may get confused. It can lead you to solve the question incorrectly or waste too much time trying to find one of those answers.
  • The exam has no negative marking; hence, even if you have little time, try and attempt as many as possible.

Conclusion

TestAS is an essential instrument for universities to assess applicants' capabilities to cope with their programs' academic rigor. As a thorough evaluation, it serves as a tool for fair admissions and cognitive ability assessment, enabling students to pursue successful academic studies in Germany.
