Plymouth State University is a public university and formerly known as Plymouth State College. This university is located in the towns of Holderness and Plymouth, New Hampshire. At first i9t was founded as Plymouth Normal School. This university is part of the University System of New Hampshire. The motto of the university is ‘That I may serve’. The parent institution of PSU is the University System of New Hampshire. The academic affiliation of this university is space- grant. It has a rural campus area with over 4 thousand students. The mascot of this univerity is Pemi the Panther and the nickname is Panthers. The sporting affiliations of this university are MASCAC, NCAA Division III- Little East and New England Hockey Conference. This university has a museum and the name of this museum is Museum of the White Mountains. This university offers many courses and programmes and many certificate programmes. Accreditation, Number of Students and Faculties

Plymouth State University is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education which is a nationally recognised NGO. All teacher certification programs are accredited by The New Hampshire Department of Education and CAEP. Athletic training programme accredited by the CAATE, the baccalaureate degree programme in nursing is accredited by CCNE. Council on social work education gives accreditation to the social work program of the university. The bachelor’s degree programmes in business administration, accounting, finance, management and marketing are accredited by ACBSP. Mental health and school counselling programs are accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counselling and Related Educational Programs. This university has 4,500 students among 145 of them are international students.

Plymouth State University provides a handful of campus facilities to its students. These services include women’s centres, nonremedial tutoring, health service and many more. This university also offers campus security and safety services such as 24 hour emergency telephones, late night car service, lighted sidewalks and controlled dormitory access and so on. Alcohol is permitted for students of legal ages. The campus size of the university is 170 acres. Plymouth State University Acceptance Rate 

The admission in PSU is least selective with an acceptance rate of 92%. Half of the applicants should have an ACT score of 15 and 32 or an SAT score between 900 and 1060.  On the other hand one quarter of the applicants get admission achieved scores above these ranges and one quarter below these ranges. 

Admission Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate

The candidates for undergraduate programmes need to have a good high school grade. The mentioned SAT or ACT score is an eligibility criteria of a student. The GPA is considered as a prime factor to get admission in this university.

Postgraduate

The candidates should have passed any undergraduate programmes and the knowledge of elementary maths and the language proficiency certificate. The international applicants should have to follow the university guideline.
