Eligibility Criteria to Study MBA in Germany

Students must meet the following eligibility criteria to pursue an MBA degree in Germany: 

  • An undergraduate degree in business or any other discipline with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or a B+ grade. 
  • Satisfactory English language proficiency scores. Minimum IELTS score of 7.0 and TOEFL ibT score of 95. This can vary from one university to the other.  
  • Applicants must also have a minimum of 3 years of work experience after graduation. 
  •  A minimum GMAT score of 600 or an equivalent score in GRE.
  • Students must possess an APS certificate.

The requirements to seek admission for an MBA in Germany might differ based on the university you choose. However, here are some of the common requirements for an MBA in Germany that you should be mindful of while applying to universities. 

  • Certified copy of academic transcripts and bachelor’s degree.
  • Copy of an updated CV or resume.
  • Results of English language tests like TOEFL/IELTS and aptitude tests like GMAT/GRE. If the MBA program is in German, then proof of German proficiency, such as the Goethe-Zertifikat B2 or any equivalent, might be needed.
  • The students also need to submit 1–2 letters of recommendation from an academic supervisor and/or employer.
  • A statement of purpose is required to explain the motivation for studying MBA in Germany. Sometimes, the university may also ask for a video essay. 
  • Copy of ID proof or passport.
  • Bank certificate as proof of financial solvency.

Work Permit After Studying MBA in Germany

International students in Germany can work in the country after completing their studies by prolonging their residence permit for 18 months after graduation.
