Therapeutic Recreation (BA) at Concordia University

The BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology degree is a four-year course with integrated practice placement learning intended to be the main route for the training of Clinical Physiologists and Healthcare Science Practitioners. Our awards are focused on the training of Healthcare Science Practitioners for the physiological science discipline of Cardiovascular Physiology.

Graduates disciplines work in a range of healthcare settings to deliver quality assured tests, diagnostic investigations and interventions for patients/clients.

This course has been launched at the specific request of local healthcare providers to meet a critical shortage of physiotherapists – so the career prospects for graduates could hardly be better.

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) estimates that at least 500 extra student places are needed nationally each year.

You’ll become a competent practitioner with clinical skills and knowledge to assess, evaluate, formulate and implement treatment programmes in a diverse range of settings. 

Do you want to help people to live the lives they want? This course will prepare you to help people deal with life challenges including ill-health, disability, and social problems. You’ll learn how everyday activities can be used and adapted creatively to promote health, wellbeing and a satisfying lifestyle, so that you graduate with the skills and knowledge needed to be an effective occupational therapist.

We’re very proud of our National Student Survey (NSS) 2019 return showing that 87 per cent of students that responded were satisfied with the quality of the course, and 97 per cent agreed that staff are good at explaining things.
